Daniel Gottschalk
About The Artist
Powered by adventure and exploration both inside and outside the studio, Daniel fills his time with outdoor activities and traveling off trail in the woods. Doing so helps to stimulate ideas and keep his mind clear. Being open to all new experiences helps him express and explore his life as an artist, outdoorsman and adventurer.
Current Events
Daniel is currently working towards his MFA Thesis Exhibition at Temple University. The show date is from April 22nd to 25th. His show will take place at Temple Contemporary in the Tyler school of Art and Architecture building.
Inspiration
Daniel has encountered awe-inspiring moments in nature, whether that be from camping and exploring in the Pocono mountains, or traveling in the deep woods of his family’s farm. It’s in these moments of aloneness in nature where he has found insight for preservation and love of natural spaces. He wants to share his thoughts and reflections on the natural world, so others can observe an alternative viewpoint on an otherwise overlooked part of nature.
In the Studio
Sculpting, building, playing, and learning…Daniel has a knack for materials, tools and an ever growing desire to learn more.
Teaching & Speaking
He has an unquestionable love of connecting to a crowd, no matter the age or size of the group. When he can be with others and share his knowledge, and more importantly his love of skills and information, magic happens. His hope is to offer helpful insights, and positively sway people to enjoy more of what art, skilled work, and what nature has to offer to those who seek more for themselves.
Upbringing
Daniel is from Roselle Park, New Jersey. He grew up going to his grandmother’s farm, with his later childhood years participating in the national scouting program, where he learned camping and outdoor skills. Learning about and enjoying the great outdoors became his artistic inspiration.
